Interesting plot. You get to play as two different characters who have mysterious backstories you have to discover. The main characters are really cool. One is an interesting female protagonist. Lots of choices. The story is a good length (maybe a little long).Cons: There were a lot of endings, but most were not happy endings. I felt like it was not very satisfying to go through the whole game and then have a lot of bad choices to choose from. It makes it much less re-playable for me personally.. Great music, mostly great characters and a great story. The romance options kind of suck with the available partners being pretty meh.Solving the mystery isn't a lot of fun, if I'm honest. Cinders was better in this regard by providing information that allowed the player to make rational deductions and choices. Here, while everything that happens certainly makes sense in retrospect, it mostly feels like an oldschool CYOA, where the results of your choices seem largely random. I tend to rate choice systems in VNs by how much I feel like I need to save-♥♥♥♥♥ at every decision point. In that regard, I'd say that Solstice is definitely better than average, but well, as I said, it's no Cinders.Still, overall, the story is enthralliing, and I had a good time with it. Definitely worth picking up while it's on sale.. Nice VN. Everything about it is well done. I have nothing bad to say about it. Well written, engaging characters, interesting story, and a smooth presentation with plenty of nice touches. And of course plenty of choices to influence the story.Also, it look a few minutes in for me to realize that this was made by a dev who made another VN I've played through here on Steam. That one was also good.. Beautiful art and soundtrack. A story with a host of interesting characters and lush environments to keep you occupied. Really gives you the impression of choice, though towards the end your options did feel more limited. Still a fantastic game with an immersive world and a lot of potential for replay.. Noticed this in my Steam library and saw that it was a visual novel. Figured I'd check it out. It was honestly really interesting and enjoyable. I liked the soundtrack a lot, too! Word of warning: If you don't know what visual novels are, they're not like normal games. It's like reading a book, except it includes sounds and some animation, and you get to make a lot of important choices. There are multiple endings you can get, depending on your decisions. Don't get this and expect a different kind of game.. this game is sensational!the art is a breath of fresh air and has improved a lot since cinders (and it was really good back then, too) though it still keeps the same vibe that set it apart from everything else at the time. the story is really rich, the characters are very nuanced and everything is so extremely well-written - it's a delight to read! i was especially glad about how the romance subplots were handled - they are completely optional and take a backseat, only developing in the measure the main story allows them to, feeling completely natural and as delightful to read as the rest of the game.i still haven't worked on getting more endings, but one playthrough is enough to say that this was money well spent. if you like visual novels, this is a definite must, and even if you don't, the beautiful art and fantastic setting and plot might convince you to give this a shot. what moacube does is unique and their attention to detail is priceless, so i can't wait to play their next works!
